György Vashegyi Elected New President of the Hungarian Academy of Arts

The Hungarian Academy of Arts held a General Assembly in Pesti Vigadó's Ceremonial Hall in order to elect its new chief officers

At the General Assembly, held on 10th October 2017, Minister of Human Capacities Zoltán Balog delivered a welcome speech, which was followed by the conferral of the Academy's 2017 section awards. Afterwards, the General Assembly elected Regular Member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts Franz Liszt Award winning conductor György Vashegyi President of the Academy. Former President György Fekete, who headed the Hungarian Academy of Arts during two terms and thus served for six years as president, was elected Honorary President by the Members.
